Several major highways serve the area, with I-35 just seven miles to the west and State Highways 3, 19, and 246 all passing through Northfield. Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), is 45 minutes away. The city is served by the Union Pacific (UP) and Progressive Rail (PGR) rail lines.
