The City of Northfield Fire Department provides fire suppression, prevention and investigation; emergency medical care; and other disaster emergency response services in the Northfield area and upon request to surrounding communities.

When not responding to emergency situations, firefighters take part in training and education, equipment maintenance duties and community outreach.
