Flood Preparedness
Current Update on the Flood Hotline
You have reached the City of Northfield’s Flood Hotline for the weekend of March 25th. Due to the wet fall and record snowfall this winter, the National Weather Service is predicting a high risk of flooding for the region during the spring snow melt season. Locally, the precipitation that fell Monday night through Wednesday morning caused the Cannon River to rise on Tuesday. The river has receded since peaking on Wednesday evening. Weekend conditions are predicted to be dry and river levels are anticipated to continue to fall. Should the conditions change significantly this message will be updated. Please see the City’s website for more information about flood preparedness.
