Using the Transit

Route Service

Riders may board or exit the route buses at any of the scheduled stops without a reservation. Riders with disabilities may request that the route bus deviate up to three blocks (1,000 feet) for pick-ups and drop-offs. All deviation reservations must be made at least three (3) hours in advance.

Dial-A-Ride Service

Call Dial-A-Ride for curb-to-curb bus service between requested locations. You will be given the first available time based on demand and other schedules. Two-hour advance reservation requested for Dial-A-Ride service.

Fares

All fares are for a single person one-way trip. Transfers between buses are free. Obtain a transfer ticket from the first bus and deliver it to the driver of the second bus. All transfer tickets must be used within 30 minutes.

Route Buses (including deviations): $1.25/person
Dial-a-Ride/Work Trip: $2.00/person

Fare tokens are sold in packages of 10 for $12.50 and may be purchased at all Northfield banks, the Northfield Manor, Three Links Apartments, the Northfield Community Resource Center, Cub Foods, EconoFoods and City Hall.

Children six years and under ride free with an adult. Limit two per adult. Fares are subject to change without notice.

Holiday Schedule

Northfield Transit services are suspended on New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and after 12pm on Christmas Eve Day. Reduced service may precede or follow holidays.

Accessible Buses

Northfield Transit buses are lift-equipped. Drivers are trained and certified to assist passengers who need help getting on and off the bus. Riders are requested to call 24 hours in advance for lift service.
