Energy Task Force

The Energy Task Force was formed by the Northfield City Council in May 2007, and reports to the Environmental Quality Commission. The Task Force, which will meet for one year, has as its mission, to research "the means to ensure a secure and affordable future supply of energy", which can provide substantial benefits to the City. The Task Force shall have seven (7) members. Members are approved by the Environmental Quality Commission.

The Task Force goals include assessing opportunities to develop energy efficiency and clean energy projects, assess the value of creating a municipal electric utility or special energy district, and recommend a citywide target and prepare a plan for reduction of greenhouse gas emmissions to meet the City's commitment to the Cities for Climate Protection Campaign (CCPC).

Applications

Applications for the Energy Task Force are available by contacting the City of Northfield at City Hall, 801 Washington Street. The applications may be submitted to the Environmental Quality Commission.

Meetings

Meetings are normally held every other Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Meeting location may vary. Special meetings may occasionally be called. It is desired that members make every attempt to be present at all meetings.
