Park & Rec Advisory Board

The City of Northfield Park & Recreation Advisory Board (PRAB) directly advises staff and officials regarding the public parks system and all public recreational facilities in the City of Northfield. PRAB assists with long-range planning for land acquisition for parks, natural areas and trails, as well as detailed plans for park development and use and recreational facilities.

The board consists of seven members appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. Members serve staggered three-year terms. There is no term limit. Members do not receive monetary compensation.

Application and Membership Requirements

The Mayor recommends applicants to the City Council based on their interest in creating a vision for the development of parks, trails and recreational facilities in the City of Northfield, along with willingness to serve and background.

Applications for the PRAB are available by contacting the City of Northfield City Clerk at City Hall, 801 Washington Street.

Meetings

Meetings are scheduled on the second Monday of the month; special meetings are occasionally called. For transaction of business at any meeting, four members constitute a quorum. It is desired that members make every attempt to be present at all meetings.
