Mill Towns Trail

The Mill Towns Trail is a planned recreational trail between Cannon Falls and Faribault, Minnesota, an hour or so south of the Twin Cities. The trail will link existing trails: the Cannon Valley Trail from Cannon Falls to Red Wing, and the Sakatah Singing Hills Trails between Faribault and Mankato.

The first leg of the trail has been built between Northfield and Dundas. Traveling south from Northfield toward Sechler Park, the trail runs parallel to Armstrong Road and then turns into a wooded area along the Cannon River. At present, the trail ends in the downtown area of Dundas, near a historic mill site and a beautiful riverside park. The trail's theme recognizes the historic mills that were once important to the economy of this area. Learn more about the Mill Towns Trail.
