TH #246 Construction Schedule
Streets, Parks, Facilities8/26/2011
Description
Due to a scheduling conflict with the pavement milling contractor, work is now scheduled to start on Monday August 29, instead of Friday August 26 as originally planned. The new schedule is as followed: Crews will begin milling operations on Monday, August 29 at the intersection of TH #3 and TH #246 (Woodley Street) and progress east and south on TH #246 working on the eastbound/southbound lanes of TH #246. Crews anticipate ending the milling and paving operations for the day on the eastbound/southbound lanes of TH #246 just south of the entrance to the Northfield High School on Monday evening. On Tuesday August 30, milling and paving operations will continue on the westbound/northbound portion of TH #246 at the intersection of TH#3 and proceed to just south of the Northfield High School entrance on Tuesday evening. Starting on Wednesday August 31, milling and paving crews will continue operations on southbound TH #246 starting just south of the Northfield High School entrance and proceed south past the Northfield Middle School, and quit somewhere south of County Road 1 on the southern border of Northfield. On Thursday September 1, milling and paving crews will pave northbound TH #246 starting south of County Road 1 and ending just south of the Northfield High School entrance on Thursday evening. This will conclude the paving that will occur within the City of Northfield City Limits. There will be other minor work completed in the coming weeks such as pavement striping that will not affect traffic patterns. All paving will be completed utilizing flaggers and pilot cars, but both MnDOT and Crane Creek Asphalt urge motorist to use alternate routes during Construction. Access to TH #246 from Linden Street, Fremont Street and Marvin Lane will be blocked to direct motorists to intersections where flaggers will be staged during paving and milling operations. Please forward this information onto anyone that it may be useful to.
