Volunteer Opportunities

The Northfield Public Library is proud of the talented and diverse group of over 200 volunteers who donate their time to helping the library run smoothly. A variety of short-term and on-going volunteer projects are available.

There are many positions (complete job descriptions) which complement different schedules, skills, and interests including:

To Volunteer at the Library

  • Complete volunteer application and background check consent form and return to the library.
  • The background check will be sent the City of Northfield's Human Resources Department for processing.
  • Upon a background clearance, you will be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator, at which time an interview will be scheduled.

Join the Friends of the Northfield Library

The Friends & Foundation of the Northfield Public Library is a volunteer, nonprofit organization with more than 275 members. Since 1982, the group has supported the Northfield Public Library by contributing financial support for supplemental services, providing material for children’s programs and sponsoring activities to aid the library and community.
