Rain hampered progress on Stage 1 this week. Crews were able to finish the majority of the service connections to individual properties this week. They also worked on storm sewer installations on Stage 1 this week. Crews were also able to complete testing on the new watermains, so they began the process of converting individual properties over to the new water system. This process involved a few water shutdowns to accomplish this work. Staff worked with the adjacent businesses to complete the shutdown at a time with the least effect on their operations.
Next week, utility crews expect to complete the remaining storm sewer on Stage 1. Grading crews are also expected to be on-site next week to begin the process of street construction. Crews will begin removing the existing subgrade materials in preparation of installing the new sand and gravel base starting at the Sixth Street and Division Street intersection, and working their way south towards Eighth Street. Grading crews also expect to begin removing sidewalks and driveway aprons scheduled for replacement on Stage 1.
Stage 2 - Seventh Street from Water Street to Washington StreetNo work is scheduled for Stage 2 next week.
Stage 3 - Washington Street Mill and Overlay and Parking Lot ConstructionNo work is scheduled on Stage 3 next week.
